The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer
Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits.

In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood... life before she became a vampire.

All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself and, above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out.

Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as "her". As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trus. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?

I did not read this when it first came out online because 1) I hate reading books on my computer, 2) I didn't really care whether I read it or not.  When I saw the Turkish translation at the bookstore and found out it was rather cheap, I picked it up and read it on and off in a few days.

Like I've said, I didn't have any expectations for this one. I think I can understand an author's will to explore a character they haven't gotten to spend more time with, but I don't know why Meyer chose Bree Tanner particularly-- I personally would be more interested in reading about Riley or Victoria, and especially the Volturi.

I'm not even going to get into how the writing dragged in certain parts, etc. so I'm moving onto more positive thoughts.

Fred was a very interesting character. It was pretty cool to find out just how shady the Volturi can be. And it was nice to see things from someone else's eyes when the young vampires finally meet the Cullens. I liked Bree because she thinks for herself and questions things even though they might scare her. She seemed a bit too calm and together for a new born vampire, but, hey, maybe it's different for everyone.

All in all though, I'd rather read Midnight Sun.

Bree Tanner'ın İkinci Hayatı
Bir Tutulma Romanı

Yazar: Stephenie Meyer
